Holly was born in Rhode Island and has lived in 6 states, including Louisiana, where she currently resides. She graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit with a BS in Marketing, and was living in Cambridge, MA when she took her first trip to New Orleans. Three years later, she would return - this time, to live. After 5 years in New Orleans, Holly left in 2021, and returned as quickly as she could in 2022, after finishing her first book, “Quit Playing Yourself.” hollidayhousebooks.com/

Holly moved to New Orleans to immerse herself in the culture, and because she loved the spirit of the city and the architecture - but she wasn't exactly sure what she wanted to do work-wise. She had most recently been a real estate agent in Cambridge, but that wasn’t where her passion lied. She ended up getting her first job in the city in STR management, and from there, vacation rental design. She quickly realized her love for design, and finally found herself where she needed to be, after many turns, detours and dead ends.

Holly always had a place in her heart for art. “I have always had an artistic side,” Owen says. “When I was in elementary school, I took classes at the Rhode Island School of Design and was one of only a handful of students from my school to have one of my drawings displayed at Newark Airport.” She also has an eye for fashion, and has always enjoyed playing around with different styles, patterns, and colors. Though she had some previous home staging experience while working as a real estate agent, it was her personal love of art and architecture, and a smidgen of luck, that finally launched a whole new career for Owen in design.

“I love design, as it combines a number of my interests,” she says. “Architecture, real estate, home décor, and artistic expression. I find inspiration everywhere; on a walk, at a show, on the street.” Holly is fascinated by people and things, the beauty and wonder of the natural world, and trying endlessly to unravel the mysteries of life.
